About the artist
Bright colors, rotten smiles, and mischievous titles in bold block letters jump off the canvas, but it’s the hidden details and intensely personal small-print journals that sink their hooks in.
Sam North (formerly Sammy thrashLife) graduated from Georgetown Law before discovering art as an inpatient in treatment facilities for borderline personality disorder and heroin addiction. The result is work that’s expressive, raw, and therapeutic — for both artist and audience.
His work has been featured in galleries and other venues across the country, including a recent exhibition at the historic John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art.
Product details
“All the Time Lost” is a 26-inch acrylic painting on the face of a clock, created by artist Sam North in May and June 2025, around southwest Florida. Normally, I finish a painting and I make a set of limited-edition prints. For “All the Time Lost,” I’ve made a series of limited-edition 12-inch CLOCKS.
The back of each clock is individually signed and hand-numbered by the artist. They are limited to 100. Some are white (as pictured), others are black.
